Who supplies engineered steel enclosures for national rollouts?

Alpine Enclosure Systems supplies Alpine Citadel, a structural steel enclosure engineered per site to ASCE 7-22, with sealed calculations available in all 50 states and an engineering package in under one week. One standard detail covers every prototype, while each site's wind speed, exposure and foundation drive its own sealed calculations. Programs get one price nationwide.

What has Alpine delivered for multi-site programs?

Alpine has 70+ locations installed, including 60+ for a multi-state tire and automotive service brand, with trash and tire storage enclosures standardized across that program. Each site received its own layout and engineering, and each enclosure shipped as one kit tagged by bay. We describe programs without naming the client; ask us about the program when you call.

How does one standard work across different sites?

Your prototype drawings carry one Alpine Citadel detail: the same materials, finish color, gates and hardware at every location. Alpine then adapts each site: the layout to that site plan, the engineering to that address's wind speed, exposure and foundation, and the submittal to the local building department. The brand keeps one standard; each permit gets site-specific calculations.

Stays the same on every site
Adapted for each site
Structural steel system: posts, captive solid slats, gates, hardware
Layout solved to the site plan, within ±1 in overall
Finish: galvanized steel, powder coated to Qualicoat standards, in your brand's RAL color
Wind speed, exposure category and risk category (ASCE 7-22)
Standard sizes and heights in the prototype set
Anchor type and slab or foundation requirements
Kit format: one kit per enclosure, tagged by bay, packing list and layout drawing
Height, where a local code caps or sets it
One price nationwide for the program
Local submittal: sealed calculations where required, alternate-materials submittal where a code names masonry
Pricing, kitting and value

One price nationwide. Kits by site and release.

Program pricing is set for the program rather than per region, and program kitting is organized by site and by release, so each store opening gets the right enclosure at the right time.

How is a program priced?

With one price nationwide, set for the program rather than per region. Typical installed cost for an 8 ft Alpine Citadel enclosure, excluding slab and site work, is $15,000–20,000 for a single and $21,000–30,000 for a double, including the engineering package for standard sizes. Program pricing for multi-site rollouts is available on request. Sites can be installed by Alpine, or supplied as kits for your contractors to install, with the installation guide and phone support. Supply-only kits are quoted per project.

How are kits supplied across a phased rollout?

Program kitting is organized by site and by release, so each store opening gets the right enclosure at the right time. Every kit holds one enclosure: parts tagged by bay, hardware packed with 10% extra, spare slats, a packing list and a layout drawing. Every gate is function-tested before it ships, so the site crew installs rather than adjusts.

How does steel value-engineer against CMU across a program?

CMU pricing moves with the region and the mason: 8 in grouted, reinforced CMU runs $14–32 per square foot across regions (Terrapin Construction Group, May 2026, citing RSMeans). Alpine Citadel installs in typically 1–2 days on a prepared slab, with fewer trades, no continuous wall footing and one price nationwide.

Steel vs CMU: cost, schedule and approvals

What do prototype architects and engineers get?

A detail they can drop into the prototype set. Alpine provides a CSI 3-part guide spec, CAD details for plan, elevation, gates, base plates and slab, standard-size sheets and a sample submittal package. For each site, Alpine returns the layout, bay schedule and engineering package in under one week, sealed where the jurisdiction requires it.

Industries

Which industries is the program built for?

Programs are built for brands that open or rebuild many similar sites: tire and automotive service, convenience stores and fuel, quick-service restaurants and drive-thru coffee, express car washes, and energy and data center sites that need equipment screening. Each has repeatable trash, tire or equipment enclosures, and each needs the same detail approved in many jurisdictions.

Program partners

Who does Alpine work with on a program?

Alpine works with the people who own the standard and the people who build it: brand construction and facilities managers, prototype architects and civil engineers, national general contractors and owner's representatives. Each gets what their stage needs, from the prototype detail and guide spec to site layouts, sealed calculations, submittals and kits packed by site and release.

Program questions

Can Alpine supply enclosures in every state?
Yes. Every Alpine Citadel enclosure is designed to ASCE 7-22 and checked for its own site, and sealed calculations are available in all 50 states. Programs are priced at one price nationwide, and each enclosure ships as one kit tagged by bay, with a packing list and a layout drawing for the local installer.
Does every site need its own engineering package?
Yes, and it is fast. Each site is checked for its own wind speed, exposure category, risk category, height, anchor type and foundation, and the engineering package is delivered in under one week. The structural system and detail stay the same, so site packages follow one format that reviewers learn quickly.
Can you work from our existing prototype detail?
Yes. Send the prototype enclosure detail, including a CMU design. Alpine solves the same footprint in structural steel, with dimensions met within ±1 in overall, and supplies an alternate-materials submittal with sealed calculations and a building-matched finish wherever a local code names masonry. The detail then becomes the program standard.
Can the enclosure match our brand color?
Yes. Alpine Citadel is powder coated to Qualicoat standards over galvanized steel, and any RAL color is available. Specify the brand color once in the program standard, and every kit ships in that color. Full hot-dip galvanized posts are available for sites where location and exposure call for them.
How long does each enclosure take to install?
Typically 1–2 days on a prepared slab. Posts bolt to base plates on the slab, solid steel slats slide in captive, and the gates arrive function-tested. There is no continuous wall footing, so the enclosure does not add a masonry sequence to the site schedule.
Can a program include tire storage and equipment screening as well as trash enclosures?
Yes. The same structural steel system builds trash and recycling, compactor, tire storage and equipment yard enclosures, and screen walls for mechanical, generator and transformer equipment. Tire yards that need 20 ft clear gates under IFC §3407.2 get them as a custom option, engineered for the site.
